Rediscovering What Your Soul Already Knows: The Path to Recognizing Our Shared Humanity
Meaning making machine
I want everything to have meaning. I choose to see everything as meaningful. I feel a profound realization that there is an interconnection and deep resonance of universal knowledge that we all share.
There is a recognition within me that every person and experience is tied in an intrinsic connection that binds all living things together. Every leaf dancing in the wind feels like a message just for me. This is how I now engage in the world.
The guy pumping gas is a reflection of me, the drug addict asking for change is me, the sweet mother nursing her infant is me, the hateful, spiteful gossiper is me. We are all connected, and we are all beautiful.
I relate to information as if it’s already always been a part of me, before I consciously learned it. I am certain that I possess knowledge long before it’s ever taught to me, yet the knowing comes only after I’ve learned the lesson. Some information feels so familiar, resonating so intensely within me, that it feels I was present when it was first conceived. For a long time, I thought these thoughts and this certainty of knowing were signs of grandiosity. But now, I realize it’s not necessarily that.
Our souls are ancient, and carry with them the collective experiences and knowledge of humanity, waiting to be rediscovered in each new lesson and encounter. Carl Jung introduced this as the collective unconscious – a deep, shared reservoir of human experience and understanding. It’s as if we are all tapping into the same well of wisdom.
When we encounter the truth that resonates so deeply, it’s not just recognition – it’s a remembrance. The knowledge we seek is already within us, and every experience, every connection, is a reminder of that inner knowing.
How to bring this inner knowing to light before the question is even asked? Before the human doubts set in? Authors like Eckhart Tolle, Paulo Coelho, and Rumi have all touched upon this idea—that wisdom is not something we acquire but something we uncover within ourselves.
By choosing to see meaning in everything and relating to everyone, I feel in alignment with this ancient wisdom, seeing the beauty and interconnection in all aspects of life.
I want to share this because understanding clicks for each of us differently. This isn’t about grandiosity or merely being conditioned to be a meaning-making-machine. It’s a deep understanding of our shared humanity and the infinite wisdom that resides within each of us.
By embracing this, I acknowledge the profound truth that we are all a part of a universal puzzle, something much larger, something beautiful and eternal.
These ideas are not new, and this isn’t the first or even the thousandth time they’ve been recognized. But I share them to add my voice to the collective wisdom – for those who hear it and feel it to be true.
We all process information in our own, unique way, and I’m sharing my perspective in case it resonates with someone who’s heard it before but hasn’t had it click before.
